What is a Connector?

A connector is the most important concept in the publishing process, because without it you cannot connect to an external location. A new connector basically requires credentials to access the outside server you are connecting to, such as login, authentication, and connector URL (host name). See Creating Connectors.

A huge benefit in using Flare Online for publishing, is that once a connection is established to a Syndicate or SFTP host name, any destination linked to the same host name can use it without having to re-enter credentials. This pertains to both license-level and user-level connectors because you can have multiple destinations that use the same connector.

Note If you are familiar with publishing in Flare Desktop, entering credentials for a single destination and the destination file path are solely in its Destination Editor. Since Flare Online is cloud-based, the license-wide credentials and the destination file path are separate, and so you work with a Connector page, and a Destination Editor.
